Gorenje wins German Design Awards 2024

At Gorenje, our biggest award is happy customers who are living better lives thanks to our household appliances. But we also take great pride when we receive design awards for our products, since we put our heart and soul into designing them.

At the German Design Awards, held at the end of 2023, our G800 Kitchen Appliances Series received recognition for its innovation and sustainability.

Award for simplicity

Kitchens are no longer just places in our homes where we prepare and cook food. Modern kitchens should feel like a welcoming haven and should not only be functional, but also beautiful to look at and eco-friendly to tackle the world’s need for sustainability.

Therefore, Gorenje’s head of product design Matevž Popič has always incorporated this holistic thinking into design and says the awarded kitchen appliances Series G800 provides “a sophisticated alternative to the current status of complex and overdesigned appliances”. It was carefully planned to seamlessly integrate into various kitchen environments in a minimalistic and timeless design. The Built-in Coffee machine, for example, can thus be integrated straight into the kitchen unit.

Award for sustainability

The aim of the new G800 series was also to focus on minimizing material usage and maximizing recyclability, ensuring that caring for a sustainable future starts at home.

Also, as kitchens are used by diferent users with different preferences, appliances must be versatile and occupy minimal space. The Built-in ovens of the G800 series come in a sleek, dark glass that blends with various interiors and with cutting-edge microwave technology that expand baking possibilites.

Award for health

Last, but not least, the series was designed with consumer health in mind. The Full Steam Built-in Ovens Series G800 feature a steam function and promote a healthier lifestyle.
