5 simple Valentine’s day ideas

Do you have anything planned for Valentine’s day? No? Care to reconsider? Even if it is a made up holiday and you’ve been together for some time, doing something nice for your loved one is always a good idea!

Breakfast in bed. What is a better start of a perfect day than a well-planned surprise first thing in the morning? Sneak out of bed early on Sunday morning, prepare freshly pressed orange juice or lemonade, pour a cup of freshly-brewed coffee, add some waffles with honey and strawberries and you’re all set. Gently wake up your dearest one and a perfect start into a new day is guaranteed.

Love notes. Do you remember your first days together? Butterflies in your stomach and your inbox full of notes expressing affection. Why not relive those days and leave a love note, two or three for your partner to find around the house? Need some inspiration? How about: “My favourite place is inside your hug”, “You make me laugh when I don’t want to smile” or a simple “Thank you for your love”.

Do their chores for a day. Or a week 😉 Unless your partner loves washing the dishes, do laundry or wash the car, doing a few tedious chores instead of them is a really nice way to show your appreciation. You can also enlist the help of your kids to help you give their mom or dad some additional free time.

Romantic evening at home. This is an oldie, but definitely a goldie! Find a nice recipe (you can start here) and prepare the perfect dinner. It doesn’t have to be complicated. For the final touch, dim the lights, light some candles and put together a playlist of your favourite romantic songs.

Words. It’s true that most often actions speak louder than words, but sometimes our dearest ones need to hear that we appreciate them. Tell her that she means the world to you or how important he is in your life. Never miss a chance to let your partner know that they have truly captured your heart.
