Someone who has to take care of ten or more place settings worth of dishes every day cannot imagine life without a reliable dishwasher, while someone who only uses a few dishes a day may think owning a dishwasher is pointless.<\/p>\n<p>Long before the dishwasher was invented, hand washing was the only way to do the dishes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>But today the dishwasher is considered a standard kitchen appliance<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 as important to some as a refrigerator or an oven.<br \/>\nA dishwasher definitely makes family life easier. Moreover, it can save up to\u00a0<strong>10 days of your time each year<\/strong>, which you can spend relaxing with your loved ones.<\/p>\n<p>Let your dishwasher take care of the dishes while you enjoy the savings<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Save money:\u00a0<\/strong>Washing dishes in a dishwasher rather than by hand can cut your utility bills.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Save time:\u00a0<\/strong>Loading and starting a dishwasher takes less time than hand washing.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Save water:\u00a0<\/strong>Dishwashers only use 1\/6 of the water used when doing the dishes by hand.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Protect yourself from germs:\u00a0<\/strong>Dishwashers clean the dishes at high water temperatures that cannot be reached when washing by hand (medical treatment of people infected with bacteria can become complicated, leading to longer hospital stays and increased health care costs).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Save the environment:\u00a0<\/strong>By reducing water consumption, dishwashers also help protect our lakes and oceans.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Smart statistics: hand-washing vs dishwasher<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The statistics show that you can lower your utility bills by<strong>\u00a0\u20ac50 and save over ten days of your time per year<\/strong>. The dishwasher <strong>uses only\u00a01\/6 of the water<\/strong>\u00a0used during hand-washing, and the average bacteria count on hand-washed dishes is\u00a0<strong>approximately 390 per plate<\/strong>\u00a0(dishwasher: one bacteria per plate).<br \/>\nWe also compared water and energy consumption when doing a full dishwasher load, equivalent to twelve place settings worth of dishes, by hand and with a dishwasher.
